Response to A Summer Almost Wasted

Eva's story is about a kid in college who is unappreciative of his family. After meeting and getting to know an intriguing girl named Margie who has undergone intense tragedy and loss of her family, Aaron comes to appreciate his family and the story ends on a happy note. I liked the initial description of the girl, her oversized Greek shirt, the computer and phone shining on her expressionless face, but where Aaron finds her interesting and unusual, I find her very typical and boring. I would have immediately written her off as stuck up and moved on, so I couldn't really relate to Aaron's pursuit of this girl. I liked the description of the family, especially the father, but a little more detail about the parents could have brought a lot more to the scenes about Aaron's home life. The jump in perspective from Aaron to Margie was a little off-putting.
